Heather received B.S. from the University of Rochester and her Ph.D. from the University of Florida in Microbiology &amp; Immunology. Her research has focused on pathogenic changes to host cells due to infection with *Chlamydia trachomatis* and developing new methods to image *Chlamydia*.

 Most recently, she comes from Wake Forest University (North Carolina) where she managed the microscope core at Wake Downtown. She has worked with biologists, chemists, biophysicists, biomedical engineers, and material scientists helping them perform cutting-edge imaging experiments.
